The Cancer Center at CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System is a fully accredited, comprehensive cancer center staffed and equipped to treat virtually any form of cancer. Whether treatment is needed for breast, prostate, lymphoma, colon, head, neck or lung cancers, all services are conveniently located within the center.

Radiation Therapy is administered under the direction of Howard Morris, M.D., who is board certified in both Radiation Oncology and Emergency Medicine. The Outpatient Chemotherapy Department is staffed with Oncology Certified Nurses. The center also provides cancer screenings for early detection and prevention, as well as support groups for patients and families.

Cancer information is at your finger tips inside the CHRISTUS St. Michael Cancer Center, at our American Cancer Society Information Resource Center. This resource library provides cancer information at your finger tips with access to books, videos, the internet, brochures and other educational and cancer preventive materials. Staffed by volunteers and open to the public from 9 am—3 pm, Monday—Friday, the resource center is available to those seeking the latest in cancer information.

Comprehensive Services at the Cancer Center

• Staff includes five licensed and registered radiation therapists, five oncology nurses, certified simulation technologist, one dosimetrist, a medical physicist, as well as various support staff.
• Full-time Social Worker to assist with care issues
• Inpatient and Outpatient Cancer care
• Additional clinical services, such as blood transfusions and IV medications
• IMRT – Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy
• Two linear accelerators, the most recent and latest available technology capabilities
• High speed CT Simulator
• ADAC "Pinnacle" 3-D Treatment Planning System
• Varian "Varis" Patient Treatment Verification System
• GYN implant services
• Support Groups: Dialogue (Cancer Support Group), Breast Cancer Support Group, For Men Only (Prostate Support Group), and Life After Loss
• Nutritional evaluation program
• Treatments provided in private, healing surroundings
