A Team Effort To Rehabilitation

Helping patients recover from traumatic brain injury takes more than expertise, it also requires great effort. Our rehabilitation team is made up of highly skilled professionals, committed to putting all they have into helping patients recover. Each of our team members is specially trained and experienced in brain injury rehabilitation. At CHRISTUS St. Michael, we feel family members and friends are also essential members of the treatment team. As appropriate, we encourage them to attend therapy sessions, ask questions and learn ways to assist in patients' rehabilitation. Our commitment to patients is continual. Our rehabilitation team is dedicated to doing all we can to return patients home at the highest level of function. After patients complete their inpatient rehabilitation program, we continue to assist in their progress through outpatient rehabilitation services--therapies that benefit patient's continued rehabilitation.

Services That Lead to Results

The brain is the control mechanism for all of our body's functions. So when it sustains serious damage, the recovery process is complex, taking a great deal of time, usually many months and sometimes even years. At CHRISTUS St. Michael Rehabilitation Hospital, the mission of our brain injury program is to provide patients comprehensive rehabilitation that helps them regain as much independent functioning as possible. We thoroughly evaluate each patient in order to establish long and short term goals and develop a rehabilitation brain injury plan that will best help them reach their goals. Our rehabilitation program is intended only for those patients with neurological diseases or injuries that can be improved through care. In brain injury cases, every patient's situation is unique. We offer advanced services in many disciplines in order to provide patients, at all levels of injury, the most consistent and comprehensive rehabilitation possible.

Referral/Admission

We accept referrals from patients, physicians, employers, community agencies, hospital discharge planners, insurance companies, other health care professionals, teachers and family members. All referred patients receive a pre-admission evaluation at no charge.
